We provide a full range of external grounds maintenance services, including the following:

  • Grass cutting
  • Shrub pruning and maintenance
  • Hedge cutting
  • Weeding, moss control and leaf clearance
  • Removal of fly-tipping and litter clearance
  • Tree works
  • Gritting

Fly-tipping

To report rubbish which you believe has been intentionally (and illegally) dumped on Broadland Housing land or property, please notify is as soon as possible by calling our team on 0303 303 0003 (Option 4). *Please note – we are only permitted to remove waste from land which is owned by Broadland Housing.

Bin Collection

Bins provision and collection is funded through payment of council tax to your local authority. To identify the date of your collection please check your local authority website.

Waste

Please ensure that your waste is disposed of in the bins that are provided to you, and you only. If you require replacement bins you should contact your local authority who will arrange this on your behalf.

Abandoned Vehicles

Abandoned vehicles may be reported to us if they are parked on Broadland Housing land. When reporting a suspected abandoned vehicle you will need to tell us:

  • The road name and precise location of the vehicle
  • The make, model and colour of the car
  • The registration number

To report an abandoned vehicle please contact us 0303 303 0003 (Option 4).

Please note – a vehicle could be deemed to be abandoned in any of the following situations:

  • It has not been moved for a long time (mould or vegetation is visible under the vehicle);
  • It is in poor condition (broken windows, flat tyres, missing parts);
  • It has been vandalised;
  • It is in a dangerous position;
  • It does not appear to have an owner;

We can consider removing a vehicle if we determine it is appropriate to so, based on the above criteria. However, please note that an untaxed vehicle is not necessarily an indication that a vehicle has been abandoned. To check whether a vehicle is taxed and has a valid MOT certificate, please visit the Gov.uk website.

Pets

We know that pets can bring a lot of enjoyment to households. However, there are some rules and regulations regarding the ownership of pets in homes to keep a pet at your home, and rule number one is simply that permission is always required in the case of a dog or cat. However, in the case of other animals, please note that we do permit the following animals to be kept without specific written permission, provided that they do not cause nuisance or damage and do not compromise public health and safety in any way:

  • Small caged animals (for example hamsters, gerbils )
  • Small tanked reptiles and fish (for example terrapins)
  • Small caged birds (for example budgerigars)

To request permission for a pet please complete our application form and return it to enq@broadlandgroup.org.

Note: We do reserve the right to visit your home to assess whether it is suitable to keep a pet.

Dangerous Dogs

If you believe a dog to be dangerous this should be reported to the police on 101, unless the animal is out of control, in which case this should be reported using 999.

Animal Cruelty

If you have concerns that an animal is being mistreated or are concerned for the welfare of an animal, you should contact the RSPCA on 0300 1234 999.

The Animal Welfare Act 2006 places legal responsibilities on pet owners to care for their pet by ensuring each of the following:

  • A proper diet
  • Somewhere suitable to live
  • Housing with or apart from other animals
  • The ability to express normal behaviour
  • Protection from and treatment of illness and injury

Noisy Dogs/ Animals

You are entitled to report noisy animals to us and can do so by contacting us on 0303 303 0003 (Option 4).

PestsĀ

If mice, rats or other pests are causing problems in your home you will be responsible for dealing with the problem if it was caused by you (ie, not clearing away your rubbish). Your local authority environmental health team should be advised of any pests you notice in your home and they will be able to advise you on how best to eradicate the problem.

If the pest problem was present when you first moved into your home, we, as your landlord, may be responsible for dealing with the problem. If you do ever identify a pest issue after having moved into one of our properties, please notify us immediately by calling our team on 0303 303 0003 (Option 4).
